Succeeding Dr. Andreas Schaaf as the President of BMW India, Mr. Philipp von Sahr is all set to join office on the 1st of October, 2012.

Dr. Schaaf, whose contributions towards BMW India have been monumental and under whose leadership BMW dethroned rival Mercedes-Benz as the numero uno of the Indian luxury car market, is to assume executive position at BMW Group Headquarters in Munich hereafter.

Mr. von Sahr's association with BMW goes long back to 1979, when he joined a Commercial apprenticeship in Industrial Sales with BMW AG, Munich. Since then he pursued his MBA with the University of Munich and thereafter resumed at BMW.

As yet, Mr. von Sahr assumed the position of President BMW Group Belux (Belgium and Luxemberg) and prior to joining BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg, he was the Head of Sales for BMW Group Germany.
